Tech Professional of the Year

Most Valuable Programmer — Coding Bootcamp

She Leads Tech Award — Gwinnett Women's Chamber

Victoria Walker is a dynamic fullstack software engineer at JPMorgan Chase, where she plays a crucial role in the Asset and Wealth Management line of business. With a passion for technology that started at a young age, Victoria's journey into tech was anything but conventional.

Raised in foster care and without the advantage of a traditional bachelor's degree, she carved her path into the tech world through sheer determination and self-taught skills. Her early experiences repairing phones sparked a deep interest in electronics, leading her to study electronic engineering and eventually discover her love for coding through a robotics club in school.

Recognizing the high costs small business owners face when developing mobile apps, Victoria decided to become a software engineer, determined to help others by providing affordable tech solutions. She attended a coding bootcamp, where her exceptional skills earned her the Most Valuable Programmer award. Since then, Victoria has made significant strides in her career, contributing to innovative projects like Wolverine — a tool that automates infrastructure management, saving JPMorgan Chase millions of dollars annually.

Beyond her work at JPMorgan, Victoria is deeply committed to empowering others through technology. She runs a successful consulting business, Vivify Solutions Inc., where she helps founders bring their mobile app MVPs to market. Understanding the challenges faced by those without formal education, she is launching a self-paced bootcamp that includes an internship opportunity, allowing participants to gain hands-on professional experience.

“To me, leadership is about serving and enabling others to achieve collective goals without ego or gatekeeping. It's about acknowledging there's always more to learn and sharing that learning to lift others.”

Victoria spearheaded the ATL Tech Week event at JPMorgan Chase to highlight the firm as not only a financial institution but also a vibrant tech hub — leveraging her network to support those pivoting into tech, especially non-degree holders, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

Victoria's journey into STEAM began with a fascination for electronics, stemming from her early days repairing phones. A mentor encouraged her to explore coding through a robotics club, which unveiled the high costs small business owners face when developing mobile apps — propelling her to learn software engineering to help them. After winning the Most Valuable Programmer award at her bootcamp, she co-led Blacks United in Leading Technology, hosting events to share knowledge and resources, earning her the Tech Professional of the Year award. As Tech Chairwoman at the Gwinnett Women's Chamber of Commerce, she teaches women founders how to streamline their processes with technology — work that earned her the She Leads Tech award.
